Typisch sind ein Multi-Tenant-Modell, automatische Releases im Wochen- oder Monats-Rhythmus, REST-APIs als Integrations-Standard und ein abonnementbasiertes Lizenzmodell ohne hohe Einstiegskosten.
Vorteile gegenüber klassischen On-Premises-ERPs: schnellere Time-to-Value (oft 4 bis 12 Wochen), niedriges initiales Investment, regelmäßige Innovationen ohne Migrationsprojekt. Trade-offs: weniger tiefes Customizing, Datenhoheit beim Anbieter, im Disaster-Fall Abhängigkeit von dessen SLA.
