Projektron BCS

Projektron BCS is a Berlin-based project-management and services-ERP product (Professional Services Automation, PSA) developed by Projektron GmbH. The product targets project-driven organisations in IT services, engineering consultancy, architecture, agencies and research institutes, where the project — not the SKU — is the central unit of work. BCS combines deep project planning, time tracking, resource scheduling, project costing and project-based invoicing with enough back-office functionality (CRM, ticketing, document management, basic accounting integration) to act as the operational backbone for a services business. BCS covers the full project lifecycle: opportunity and quotation (with CRM integration), project planning with work breakdown structures and Gantt scheduling, resource and capacity planning, time and expense recording with mobile and web clients, project costing with plan-versus-actual tracking, milestone and progress invoicing, and project closure with knowledge transfer. Adjacent modules include ticketing for service desk workflow, document management with revision-safe archiving, and CRM with quotation history. Financial accounting is not the strength of BCS; the product is designed to feed time, expense and invoice data into DATEV (the German payroll and accounting standard) or a separate finance system rather than to replace it.

Target users and industries

Typical BCS customers are project-driven services organisations between 20 and 1,000 users: IT services and software consultancies, engineering and planning offices, architectural practices, agencies, research institutes and public-sector project organisations. Manufacturing, trade and pure subscription businesses are not the target; for those buyers, a generalist ERP or a different PSA option fits better. The product's strength is depth of project workflow rather than breadth of horizontal ERP coverage.

Technology and deployment

BCS is offered as on-premises installation or as managed cloud hosting in German data centres operated by Projektron. The architecture is browser-based, which differentiates BCS from older Windows-client PSA products. The product carries mature DACH localisation including GoBD compliance (the German principles for proper digital bookkeeping) and DATEV export for the time-and-invoice feed into the tax advisor or in-house finance system. Public-sector customers benefit from the vendor's experience with German public-procurement requirements (EVB-IT) and security certifications.

Competition and selection considerations

Within the DACH PSA segment, BCS competes against Deltek Maconomy (more international, weaker in DACH localisation), Microsoft Dynamics 365 Project Operations (broader ERP, shallower project workflow), Scopevisio (lighter, more SMB-focused) and a long tail of agency-specific tools. BCS is the natural choice when the buyer needs project depth (planning, capacity, costing) in a German-language product with strong DACH compliance, and is less compelling for organisations that need the project module as a sidecar to a manufacturing or trade ERP.

Pricing and licensing

Projektron BCS uses a per-user licensing model with separate prices for the on-premises and cloud variants and modular add-on pricing for the optional CRM, ticketing and document-management components. Indicative pricing is mid-range for the DACH PSA segment, comparable to Scopevisio at the lower end and below Deltek Maconomy or international PSA suites. Implementation services are typically delivered by Projektron directly or by a small partner network, with project sizes scaled to the buyer's deployment scope.
