No. The vendor is based in Austria but serves the wider DACH region, with more than 400 productive installations across Austria, Germany and Switzerland. The Austrian origin shows in the depth of Austrian-specific tax and bookkeeping handling, which is a strength for Austrian buyers and not a constraint for German or Swiss buyers.

How does the integrated CRM compare with Salesforce?

The integrated CRM is mid-market in scope, sufficient for typical Austrian and DACH Mittelstand sales workflows but considerably narrower than Salesforce in features. Organisations with complex sales operations — long B2B sales cycles, dedicated marketing automation, complex pipeline structures — typically run a separate CRM alongside the ERP. For typical Mittelstand sales the integrated CRM is usually adequate and avoids the integration cost.

Does Modern Office support DATEV?

Yes. The product carries a DATEV connector for German tax-adviser export alongside connectors to the Austrian standards RZL and BMD. The dual coverage is unusual and is a strength for buyers with operations in both Germany and Austria.
